Through career and academic counseling, professional and skill development, and more, employees in all roles within the organization have resources available to grow a rewarding career.

Career and academic counseling

  • Career coaching, offered through the Rural Health Careers Grant Program, can help you start your healthcare career or take the next steps in your career. Meet with the career counseling team to get guidance for your next career steps, get interview practice and application help, learn about supportive resources, discuss training opportunities, and more.
  • Talk with Talent Acquisition (TA). Recruiters from the TA team invite you to “Talk with TA.” They look forward to answering your career and application questions.

Professional and skill development resources

  • Dartmouth Health Professional Development Guide: We strive to hire, develop, and promote employees based on the competencies that will help them thrive in their roles. The Professional Development Guide presents well-defined behavioral competencies, organized by both category and role level. For each behavioral competency, the Professional Development Guide provides specific development suggestions to help employees and managers determine where to focus development efforts and how to measure progress.
  • LinkedIn Learning: This award-winning online training program gives our employees the opportunity to refine their existing skills and develop new ones. Employees can select from LinkedIn Learning's library of over 15,000 digital courses that cover a wide range of technical, business, software, and creative topics, all taught by experiences, industry-leading experts.
  • Professional skills courses: A variety of professional skills courses are offered to Dartmouth Health staff. These open enrollment courses are designed to enhance your skills to become even more effective personally, with your team, and your patients. Many professional skills courses are available virtually via Webex and in person.

Additional learning opportunities

  • Employee Relations training and education: Employee Relations provides training to develop staff and management awareness of employee relations laws and concerns. They also offer a number of supervisor trainings to help both new and seasoned supervisors deal with different workplace scenarios.
  • Value Institute Learning Center (VILC): The VILC provides education, coaching, and an execution infrastructure to support systematic, effective, and persistent change.
  • Leadership development programs: Our Organizational & Employee Development team offers a number of programs and resources to help new and experienced leaders develop within the organization.
  • Academic Support Hub: This resource is designed to foster new clinician-researchers, focusing on nursing, broadly defined primary care, and allied health. Our expertise is in developing, testing, and implementing innovative and effective approaches to healthcare research.
  • Continuing education for healthcare professionals: We are committed to helping our employees grow professionally and meet their commitments to lifelong learning. We offer tuition support and scholarships, Accredited Continuing Education resources, experiential learning and training through our accredited simulation center, and more.
