As we celebrate National Nurses Month in May, some of New Hampshire’s finest nurses—including four employed by Dartmouth Health—were honored Thursday night at New Hampshire Magazine’s annual Excellence in Nursing Awards. Held in partnership with the New Hampshire Nurses Association, this event celebrates the unique talents, skills and contributions of Granite State nurses to the health and wellbeing of their communities.
Nominations were accepted in a total of 16 nursing specialties, from pediatrics and school nursing to leadership and education. The winners were selected by an independent committee of nursing leaders from adjoining states. Dartmouth Health’s winning nurses for 2023 are:
- Debra P. Hastings, PhD, RN, NPD-BC, director of Continuing Nursing Education for Dartmouth Health
- Ellen M. Belter, BSN, RN, clinical nurse supervisor for Outpatient Psychiatric Services at Dartmouth Health’s Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC)
- Tammy I. Lambert, MSN, RNC-NIC, intensive care nursery nurse manager for Dartmouth Health Children’s
- Kristie, R. Foster, BSN, RN, emergency department nurse manager and clinical manager for Dartmouth Health’s Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital
“Debra, Kristie, Tammy and Ellen exemplify the outstanding caliber of nurses we pride ourselves on throughout the Dartmouth Health system,” said Susan A. Reeves, EdD, RN, chief nursing executive of Dartmouth Health and executive vice president of DHMC. “I am so proud of their achievements, and of the compassionate care our nurses deliver to our patients every single day. Our health system would not be the world-class care provider that it is without them and they deserve our appreciation 365 days a year.”
