David F. Horne, MD, MPHCheshire Medical Center, a Dartmouth Health member, has named David F. Horne, MD, MPH, as its first chief of dermatology. Horne assumed the role in December, after serving as a temporary provider at the Keene hospital for one year.
Cheshire has added this new position as part of its plans to expand access to dermatology care in the Monadnock Region.
“We are thrilled to bring Dr. Horne to Cheshire Medical Center and the Keene community as our first chief of dermatology,” said Cheshire president and CEO Joseph L. Perras, MD. “Working with Drs. Guardiano and Seymour, Dr. Horne will expand dermatology services in Keene and help us train the next generation of physicians and associate providers. Dr. Horne brings a wealth of leadership experience in dermatology practices across the globe. We welcome him to our community.”
Horne received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his residency at New York – Presbyterian Hospital. He also holds a bachelor of science in biology from Davidson College in North Carolina and a master of public health from John Hopkins University School of Public Health in Baltimore.
“Dr. Horne’s position at Cheshire is a welcome addition to the Dartmouth Health dermatology team,” said M. Shane Chapman, MD, chair of dermatology at Dartmouth Health. “My team looks forward to working closely with him to expand our coordination of care, sharing of best practices and collaborating on some of the more complex diseases that we treat. Dr. Horne’s expertise will enhance our comprehensive dermatologic care across our region.”
Prior to joining Cheshire’s staff, Horne most recently served as the lead dermatology physician at Northern Light Health in Presque Isle, ME.
Horne said he is thrilled to start this new chapter at Cheshire.

Cheshire’s dermatology team provides routine skin exams, specialized treatments for skin cancer, cosmetic services and general dermatology for all ages. Patients interested in dermatology services can receive a referral through their primary care provider.
