Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital (APD), a member of Dartmouth Health, is one of two hospitals in New Hampshire recognized for patient experience by Healthgrades, a comprehensive database of ratings and comparisons for physicians, hospitals and healthcare providers.
The Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ recognizes hospitals that provide an overall outstanding patient experience. Healthgrades overall patient experience scoring methodology uses Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient survey data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Patients were asked 10 questions about their care, including communication, responsiveness, cleanliness, quietness, care transition, and discharge information.
“Our staff has an unwavering dedication to patients,” said Susan E. Mooney, MD, MS, FACOG, CEP and president of APD. “From admission to discharge, APD patients experienced our culture of caring and came away pleased with the overall quality of their care, including the clear and consistent communication with doctors and nurses.”
The award recipients in this category represent the top 15 percent of eligible U.S. hospitals that provided best-in-class patient experiences. APD was one of two hospitals recognized for Patient Experience in New Hampshire.
This is the second patient experience award for APD. In 2023, APD won a Patient Experience award for its Emergency Department. APD was one of four hospitals in New Hampshire to be recognized.
